2024 Swimming Lessons at Poquoson Pool Information & Schedule


REGISTRATION OPERATIONS:
No online registration is available for swimming lessons.
No call-in registration is taken.
You must come and register in person at Poquoson Parks and Recreation Office at 830 Poquoson Avenue.
REGISTRATION IS ONLY TAKEN IN PERSON at 830 Poquoson Avenue Office. No online registration or over the phone registration available. No Exceptions. Sessions fill quickly; do not delay.
You may only register for 1 session at a time.
Please note: To make a switch to an alternate session or time, this must be done in person and new paperwork must be created to track the changes. Only extenuating circumstances or sickness will be permitted.

CLASS OPERATIONS:
Classes meet for 8 sessions or as noted by session.
Sessions 1-4 typically run Monday-Thursday for 2 weeks per session.
Fridays are held for make-up sessions in the event of inclement weather.
Note some sessions have a varied schedule due to the holidays or events at the park.
Class sizes are limited, and office staff will not over fill classes.
All instructors are trained to teach from a nationally accredited swimming program.

LEVEL CLASSES & LITTLE PEOPLE (PRE-SCHOOLERS)
Session 1 -4 Level Classes are 45 minutes each session.
There are 8 classes in total over the two weeks for Sessions 1-4.

Little People & Parent/Child Classes are 30 minutes in length during each session. There are 8 classes total in the two weeks for Little People Sessions 1-4.

RECOMMENDED AGES FOR CLASSES
Level Classes: Recommended for ages 6 and up or successful Little People completion for younger ages.

Little People: ages 3-5 with no parent participation. Must enter the water and participate independently. Must be age 3 by the start of class for Little People Class; No exceptions for age 3 to start. If this is not the case with your participant, they will be recommended to participate in the Parent/Child
option or be refunded the partial remainder of the course.

Parent & Child Classes: 11mos. to 2.5 years with parent.

FOR ALL CLASSES: A swim diaper is required for any participant who is not potty trained. (Preschoolers & Parent/Child classes)

COST: SESSIONS 1-4
Cost for Residents: $80 Per Child Per Session for Levels.
$90 Per Child Per Session for Non-Residents for Levels.
$70 Per Child Per Session for Little People; $80 Per Child Per
Session Non-Residents

NOTE SESSION 5 Costs: $70 residents/$80 non-residents Level Classes.
Little People $60 residents/$70 non-residents
