Lifeguard Training
Class will be a mix of online learning and skill practice. If you are a successful candidate & become a hired lifeguard at the Poquoson Pool during the summer of 2023 the cost of the class will be REIMBURSED to successful hires at the
completion of the 2023 Season. Must attend all class dates:
Swim test: Wed. May 24 4:30-7:30pm
Skills Sessions: Tues. May 30 3-7:30pm; Wed. May 31 1 3-7:30pm; Thurs. June 1 3-7:30pm; Fri. June 2 3-7:30pm & Mon. June 5 3-6pm
Must attend all sessions + online self-study. Schedule is weather dependent & may be adjusted.
First class will have a required swimming skills test that is a 300 meter
swim in either front crawl (freestyle stroke) or breast stroke,
A 2-minute treading water, and a brick dive.
Must pass skills test to proceed with the course.
